BRENTFORD 3–0 CHELSEA — A DEFEAT THAT HURTS

Brentford reached half-time without a goal but transformed the contest after the break. Jaidon Anthony struck in the 61st minute following a corner, Igor Thiago doubled the lead in the 83rd and Fabio Carvalho completed the scoreline in added time.

The victory moved Brentford provisionally into third and was their first home win over Chelsea since 1938. For Xabi Alonso's team, it was a third consecutive Premier League game without a victory. Chelsea also extended their run without a league clean sheet to 21 matches.

BAYERN 7–0 UNION BERLIN — KANE SETS THE RECORD, OLISE STEALS THE SHOW

Bayern Munich exploded for seven goals against Union Berlin. Harry Kane scored twice and reached 100 Bundesliga goals in his 98th appearance. He eclipsed Dieter Müller's previous record, which had required 129 matches.

Michael Olise was just as decisive: he won the penalty for Kane's historic goal, assisted the England captain's second and completed a hat-trick of his own. Jamal Musiala and Ismael Saibari supplied the other goals. The win put Bayern top on 10 points before the remaining weekend fixtures.

MONACO 2–1 LENS — BRUNNER FIRES THEM TO THE LIGUE 1 SUMMIT

Paris Brunner gave Monaco the lead in the 32nd minute and registered his sixth goal of the season. Matthieu Udol equalised for Lens in the 57th, but Monaco's pressure produced a Jonathan Gradit own goal six minutes from time.

Monaco ended the night with four wins and one draw from their first five games, three points clear at the top. The standings can change after the rest of the weekend programme, but the 2–1 result and Monaco's position immediately after the match are official.
