STATUS: OFFICIAL — BOTH MATCHES ARE FINAL
Two sharp swings defined the European football night of September 19, 2026: Inter recovered from two goals down in Rome, while Lyon completed a four-goal win in a match briefly halted during the second half.
ROMA 2–2 INTER — LAUTARO ERASES THE DEFICIT
Roma appeared to have taken full control in the first half. Manu Koné scored in the sixth minute and doubled the advantage in the 37th, sending the hosts into the interval with a 2–0 lead.
Inter responded immediately after the restart. Lautaro Martínez cut the deficit in the 46th minute and scored again in the 79th to secure the final 2–2 draw.
The result marked the first dropped points of the Serie A season for both teams. After five matches, Roma, Inter and Lazio stood level on 13 points. Cagliari were one point behind after Daniel Maldini settled a 1–0 win at Udinese. Bologna drew 1–1 with Torino, while Lazio defeated Venezia 2–0.
LYON 4–0 RENNES — NUAMAH STARTS THE PARTY
Lyon took control in the first half as Ernest Nuamah scored twice. Zachary Athekame added the third before Corentin Tolisso completed the 4–0 result with a strike from outside the penalty area in the 76th minute.
The match was briefly halted after Lyon supporters displayed an offensive banner aimed at rivals St Étienne, but play resumed. The incident did not alter the sporting result.
The victory lifted Lyon into second place on 11 points from five matches, two behind Monaco. Rennes remained fifth on 10 points.
WHAT IS CONFIRMED
