EVERTON 1–0 IPSWICH — BARRY SETTLES IT
Thierno Barry's goal gave Everton a narrow victory over Ipswich Town. The hosts preserved their unbeaten start and moved into the top five after the afternoon results.
NEWCASTLE 2–1 HULL — TWO GOALS IN SEVEN MINUTES
Joe Willock scored in the third minute and Lewis Hall in the seventh to give Newcastle a rapid lead. Mohamed-Ali Cho reduced the deficit for Hull in the second half, but the hosts held on. It was Hull City's first league defeat of the season.
