STATUS: REPORTED TALKS
Christian Kofane has temporarily put talks over a Bayer Leverkusen contract extension on hold, according to a Sport Bild report relayed by Bulinews on October 7. The Cameroon striker’s current deal runs through 2029.
The report says the parties had advanced towards a longer agreement, but discussions have stalled over the signing bonus. His base salary and a possible release clause are not presented as the main points of disagreement.
Arsenal are reported to have been in contact with the player’s representatives since the spring, while Manchester United registered interest later. Newcastle, Aston Villa and Everton are said to have made approaches during the summer. None of that interest amounts to an accepted offer or completed negotiation.
Kofane is not reported to have requested a departure and remains open to renewing with Leverkusen. There is no signed new contract, agreement with another club or official confirmation from Bayer Leverkusen.
