Top Channel has cancelled the event planned to mark the broadcaster's 25th anniversary, which was due to take place on Wednesday evening, October 14. Lori Hoxha announced the decision in a message to staff reported by Loki Magazine.
According to the report, Hoxha said the broadcaster has every reason to celebrate the people who built it and continue to keep the institution running, but that the atmosphere of recent days is not suitable for a celebration. Her reasoning centred on the principle that there is “a time for responsibility”.
The message also frames the cancellation as support for journalists and other employees continuing to report from the field in difficult, tense conditions. It does not abandon the anniversary celebration: the same communication says the 25-year milestone will be marked at another time.
