Burnley have officially dismissed head coach Nicky Hayen with immediate effect. The club communicated the decision in a brief statement published on October 24, without yet naming who will take charge of the team next.
DECISION FOLLOWS LINCOLN DEFEAT
The announcement came after a 4–1 defeat away to Lincoln City. According to Reuters, Hayen left after 14 matches in charge, with Burnley 22nd in the Championship and having won only one of their previous 12 league games.
The Belgian coach had been appointed in the summer on a three-year contract after managing Club Brugge. Poor results ended his tenure only a few months after his arrival.
WHAT REMAINS UNCONFIRMED
Burnley have not announced an interim coach or permanent successor. Any name linked with the vacancy must remain a report rather than an appointment until the club confirms it.
