Lazio moved provisionally top of Serie A after a commanding 6-2 away victory over Sassuolo. The results, scorers and table position were reported by Reuters following Tuesday’s fixtures.
SIX GOALS AND TWO MISSED PENALTIES
Kenneth Taylor opened the scoring before Gustav Isaksen and Romano Floriani Mussolini extended the advantage. Sassuolo were reduced to ten men when Kristian Thorstvedt was sent off after 30 minutes. Mattia Zaccagni restored the two-goal cushion before halftime and Tijjani Noslin scored twice after the break. Lazio also missed two penalties, both saved by Stefano Turati.
THE LEAD IS PROVISIONAL
Gennaro Gattuso’s side remain unbeaten after nine matches and reached 25 points, three ahead of Inter before their Wednesday match against Venezia. The top position can therefore change once the round is complete.
ROMA AND COMO STRIKE LATE
Roma beat Cagliari 4-2 after Rodrigo Mora and Donyell Malen scored in the final five minutes. Como overturned Torino 3-1 with three goals in the closing ten minutes after initially falling behind to Che Adams.
