José Mourinho’s Real Madrid won the season’s first El Clásico, beating Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou and ending the Catalans’ nine-match winning run in LaLiga.

MBAPPÉ OPENS AND CLOSES THE SCORING

Kylian Mbappé put Madrid ahead during the first half after the visitors pressed high and benefited from a deflection in the scoring move. Barcelona responded after the break: Pedri took a short corner and Raphinha supplied the equalising finish.

With the contest heading towards a draw, Jude Bellingham launched the decisive counterattack, Eduardo Camavinga drove forward and supplied Mbappé, who scored his second to seal the 2-1 result.

100 GOALS FOR REAL MADRID

The brace took Mbappé to 100 goals for Real Madrid. The club says 67 have come in LaLiga, 25 in the Champions League, four in the Copa del Rey and four across other competitions.
