Chelsea have reached an agreement with Aston Villa for Emiliano Martínez, according to The Guardian on 27 August 2026. The report places the fee at £7.5 million and says a two-year contract with an option for a further season is planned.

An agreement between the clubs is the central step, but the move should not yet be described as completed. A medical, contract signature, registration and official announcements from Chelsea or Aston Villa have not been confirmed.

Martínez, who turns 34 next week, would bring extensive Premier League and Argentina experience. His arrival would immediately increase competition for Chelsea's goalkeeper position.

The £7.5 million figure and the proposed contract structure are media-reported terms, not conditions published by either club. Until an official announcement, the status remains a reported agreement.
