Fabinho has travelled towards Trabzon to complete a proposed move to Trabzonspor, where he is expected to reunite with former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.
Reuters reported on 24 August 2026 that the Turkish club posted an image of the 32-year-old wearing a Trabzonspor shirt aboard a private jet. In the club’s post, Fabinho said that “a familiar face” was waiting for him in Trabzon—an unmistakable reference to Salah, who joined the club earlier in August.

- Trabzonspor have announced Fabinho’s journey to the city and shown him wearing the club shirt. - Reuters and Anadolu Agency report that an agreement in principle is in place and that the player is expected to join as a free agent. - Fabinho is available after leaving Al-Ittihad, whom he joined from Liverpool in 2023.

Trabzonspor have not yet published a final announcement confirming a signed contract, medical clearance, registration, length of deal, salary or bonuses. The accurate status is therefore “reported agreement”, not a completed official transfer.
THE SALAH REUNION
Fabinho and Salah spent five seasons together at Liverpool. During that period, they were part of the squad that won the 2019 Champions League and the 2019/20 Premier League, among other trophies.
For Trabzonspor, Fabinho’s possible arrival would add experience at the base of midfield and rebuild a proven connection with Salah. His actual role will still depend on the paperwork being completed, his physical condition and the coaching staff’s plans.
