Joshua Zirkzee could return to Italian football. ESPN reported on 27 August 2026 that Fiorentina and Manchester United had opened talks over an initial loan, with the possibility of making the transfer permanent next summer.
The Netherlands forward knows Serie A well after spells with Parma and Bologna. Fiorentina are exploring a structure that could give United financial flexibility while offering the player more minutes in a league where he previously impressed.
According to the report, Zirkzee is open to the move, but Fiorentina had not yet submitted a formal offer. A loan fee, purchase option, salary and personal terms have not been settled.
