University programme selection begins today
Graduates seeking admission to higher education in Albania enter one of the most important stages of the process today. The Ministry of Education has announced that candidates can select their preferred study programmes through the U-Albania portal from 27 July to 1 August 2026.
The six-day window makes this a process that deserves attention rather than a rushed final-minute choice. Candidates should review the programmes that interest them, the institutions offering them and every instruction displayed on the official portal before completing the action.
What the Ministry of Education confirms
The official notice formed part of the ministry's review of the 2026 State Matura. According to the ministry, more than 26,600 graduates completed the examinations across 144 centres and results were published within the stated timetable. The same notice directs candidates to the university application calendar and identifies 27 July–1 August as the period for choosing preferred programmes.
The ministry's notice does not rank courses or promise admission to any particular programme. Candidates should therefore understand the selection as a statement of preference within the official process and rely only on information provided by U-Albania, universities and the responsible public institutions.
A practical check before submitting
Before finalising a selection, candidates should carefully verify their personal details, the exact programme title and the corresponding institution. They should read the portal instructions, avoid sharing account credentials with other people and retain any confirmation displayed by the system after the action is completed.
If the portal presents a technical problem or unclear information, the safest response is to use the official support channels of U-Albania, the relevant university or the Ministry of Education. Unofficial posts and anonymous social-media advice should not replace institutional guidance.
Why the deadline matters
A study-programme choice can shape a candidate's academic and professional direction. A considered decision should reflect more than a course's popularity: personal interests, preparation, curriculum and the programme's realistic opportunities all matter. The window closes on 1 August, leaving graduates time to review their decision—but not to leave it unchecked until the deadline.
