Grida Duma has responded directly to rumours placing her in Edi Rama's cabinet, including reports linking her with the deputy prime minister's position. Her public answer is a denial: she says she has no intention of taking anyone's place in government.
In a video published by GridaDuma_Podcast on 27 August 2026, Duma said the reporting had assigned her not only a political return but also a position and supposed backing. She described her intervention as a clarification after the rumours expanded.
Her strongest message was that any possible return would not come through an invitation from the government or another political force. The essence of her position was that she would enter politics ‘through her own door’, linking any future decision to what she believes she could offer Albania.
The statement closes, from Duma's own side, the scenario presenting her as part of imminent government changes. There is no institutional announcement of an appointment, negotiations or a new role, and she has publicly rejected the idea.
Duma resigned her parliamentary mandate in 2022 and subsequently moved into television. The new statement does not announce a return to active politics; it leaves open only the possibility that, at another time, such a decision would be hers rather than the result of an invitation.
