This is the official completion of the agreement reported earlier in the week. The medical, signature and registration are no longer pending steps: the transfer has been completed and publicly confirmed by the selling club.
Forest offer Delap a fresh role after a difficult season at Chelsea. The forward moved from Manchester City to Ipswich Town in 2024 and scored 12 goals in 37 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign before transferring to Stamford Bridge a year later.
The clubs have not disclosed the financial terms. Reuters reports a £45 million fee that could rise by another £5 million in add-ons, which would make the signing a Nottingham Forest record. Those figures remain reported amounts rather than official financial terms.
Delap said in Forest's announcement that he was attracted by the club's history and the opportunity to develop under Oliver Glasner. What is settled is the permanent move and five-year contract; his salary and the complete bonus structure have not been made public.
