Manchester United suffered another heavy Premier League blow, losing 3–0 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford. The result left Michael Carrick’s side 16th on seven points, only one point above the relegation zone.
BOURNEMOUTH SETTLE IT BEFORE THE BREAK
Rayan opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Marcus Tavernier added Bournemouth’s second before halftime, and Evanilson sealed the victory with the third goal after the interval.
Bruno Fernandes, who began on the bench, did not enter the match. Harry Maguire wore the captain’s armband, but the lineup change did not halt United’s slide. Loud boos greeted the final whistle and the pressure on Carrick intensified.
CARRICK DOES NOT CONFIRM AN EXIT
After the match, Carrick admitted he was uncertain about his future. Manchester United, however, have not announced a dismissal, resignation or agreement with another manager. Any claim that a change has already been decided remains unconfirmed.
LIVERPOOL 2–0 BRIGHTON
At Anfield, Liverpool scored twice in four minutes. Pascal Gross diverted Florian Wirtz’s shot into his own net in the 17th minute before Alexander Isak finished Bradley Barcola’s pass in the 21st.
It was Liverpool’s first home Premier League win of the season and lifted the side to fourth place on 15 points. Brighton remained one point ahead.
STATUS: OFFICIAL — both matches are complete. Reuters reported the results, scorers and immediate table positions on October 25, 2026. No managerial change at Manchester United has been officially confirmed.
