STATUS: OFFICIAL

Nico Williams has withdrawn from Spain's national-team camp, the Spanish Football Federation confirmed on October 1, 2026.

According to the RFEF, the Athletic Club forward reported discomfort in his left thigh after the match against Croatia in Seville. His condition was monitored during the rest day and, because the discomfort persisted, he did not take part in Thursday's training session.

The federation's medical services carried out checks and decided that Williams should leave the camp. Athletic Club's medical staff have been kept informed, and the player will continue treatment and recovery under his club's supervision.

WHAT REMAINS UNCONFIRMED

The official announcement does not provide a precise diagnosis, define the severity of the issue or set a recovery timetable. There is therefore no official basis yet for saying how many matches Williams could miss.
