STATUS: OFFICIAL — OCTOBER 23, 2026, 16:27
Paris Saint-Germain–Olympique Lyonnais will not be played on Sunday evening as originally scheduled. The Ligue de Football Professionnel announced on October 23 that the Ligue 1 Matchday 8 fixture has been moved to Monday, October 26, with kick-off at 20:30.
WHAT CHANGED
The original slot was Sunday, October 25, at 20:45 at the Parc des Princes. According to the LFP’s official statement, the Paris Police Prefecture issued an order preventing the match from being staged at that date and time. The league, in agreement with broadcaster Ligue 1+, moved the fixture back by 24 hours and set Monday’s kick-off for 20:30.
WHY THE DECISION WAS TAKEN
The LFP did not provide further detail in its short statement, but Reuters reported that authorities raised security concerns as Paris prepares for fresh protests and a major policing operation. The change affects the date and kick-off time only; the venue remains the Parc des Princes.
BALLON D’OR DATE CLASH
The new date coincides with the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London. That creates a direct calendar clash for PSG, who have several nominated players. The LFP confirmed that PSG–Lyon will be shown live on Ligue 1+.
