STATUS: OFFICIAL — OCTOBER 23, 2026, 19:08

Bukayo Saka has been ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League match against Everton. The confirmation came from Mikel Arteta and was published by Arsenal one day after the forward left the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich early.

WHY A SECOND MRI IS NEEDED

Arteta explained that fluid around the affected area made the first assessment difficult. Saka will therefore undergo another MRI and further examinations to establish the extent of the injury.

Reuters reported that Arsenal are also seeking additional assessments and specialist opinions. The club have confirmed only his absence against Everton; no final diagnosis or return date has been announced.

THE SIX-TO-EIGHT-WEEK TIMELINE IS NOT OFFICIAL

The Guardian reports fears of a grade-two tear and a possible absence of around six weeks, while other outlets have suggested up to eight weeks. Those are media estimates, not a published scan result and not a timetable confirmed by Arsenal.

WHAT HAS CHANGED SINCE YESTERDAY’S REPORT

On October 22, the quadriceps injury had been confirmed but no specific absence was established. The October 23 update adds two new official facts: Saka will not face Everton and the diagnostic process continues with a second MRI.
