Rafael Leão has announced the end of his seven-year spell at Milan. Following the 2-0 win over Venezia on 28 August 2026, when he was not in the squad, the Portugal international told Sky Sport Italia that he had said goodbye to his teammates and that the time had come to choose a different path.

Reuters reported on 29 August that Milan had accepted Galatasaray's offer, valued at €45 million. That figure and the club-to-club agreement are reported details; neither Milan nor Galatasaray has published them as official terms.

Leão's own statement confirms his emotional departure from Milan, but not the administrative completion of a transfer to Galatasaray. A contract signature, registration, personal terms and final club announcements have not been publicly confirmed.

Leão joined Milan from Lille in 2019 and recorded 80 goals and 65 assists in 291 appearances. He won Serie A in 2021/22 and the 2024/25 Italian Super Cup.
